Dawn, Jonathan and I have always been trying to keep one thing in mind with our range. Find only the very best quality items available in the world of swimwear, and then sell them. Our efforts have all been highly concentrating on curating a collection of these higher end bikinis and swimsuits. But we don’t want to restrict what could be a fantastic range of unrivalled selection.

So recently we’ve been looking at our closest brands to find other beachwear that we think people would love to experience alongside their stunning swimsuits. The answer was the ever more popular beach dress.

This is Oroblu’s Haiti Beach Dress. When I said we were looking at our closest brands, I mean we’re looking at the brands whose quality has proven itself time and again. Brands that we can trust to offer us, and you of course, the very best of a new type of beachwear. The answer was one of our oldest partnerships, something we’ve been handling with our other site too. Oroblu, one of Italy’s premier clothing designers.

The Haiti Dress is designed as a kind of elegantly practical mix of the light and comfortable kaftan and the evening wear worthy summer gown. As far as this mix goes, I’ve heard nothing but great things about its comfort and fit, its style and its ease.

As for the design itself, well that’s entirely up to you!

Personally, I love anything that comes in a simple arrangement of colours. No more than three, but ideally two. This is Oroblu’s logic and it works well when you’re looking to make something that blends in beautifully with any scene. This is as ideal for restaurants as it is for basking in the sea breeze.

I don’t know about you, but that kind of hassle free fashion sense is something I’ve yet to see with any gentleman’s swim shorts. Perhaps I should lobby Oroblu for something similar for my own market.

What do you think? Of the dress, I mean.

Roidal Sultan is more than just a classical print reproduced with care. It is the modern (or postmodern, if your the scarf-wearing arty type) design that will put Roidal ahead of the competition.

The design, for the first few nano-seconds of your seeing it, looks like a million others. Earthy colours, nicely spaced and a little bit sparse in its scattering. Leopard, always a strong contender.

But look for more than a moment and you’ll see the design is a hazy, phased-out cloning of the classical animal skin affair.

This piece is shimmering, translucent imitation of leopard skin, which has been a constant fixture of the swimwear landscape for an age. Roidal have re-imagined what it means to make a classic swimsuit. This company has a tradition of not making the same old tired things, again and again. It’s all about stupendous and stunning works of art, but with their own individual stamp.

Sultan has defied even more of the swimwear industry’s wisdom by throwing out the standard colour scheme. You might see from the picture that Roidal are using an entirely new set of shades and hues. If not, take a look at this close up.

The fabric is rendered in more of a bone white than a faded gold. This colour revolution leaves this swimsuit with a much more refreshed look and a clean, elegant and modern edge.

Just a word on the centre feature. The ruffled sash that runs around your torso adds a clever slant to the neckline. The neckline itself is practically plunging! To ease and soften this dramatic occurrence, the horizontal sash is implemented. It gives this swimsuit, and your body, a much more gentle and sophisticated shape.

The shape of Roidal’s Sultan Swimsuit lends itself to sunbathing very well. It’s one of the best full length items for bronzing I know of, but I think this belongs squarely on the sand. The poolside is too tame for a design like this.

Keep it near the crashing and falling of the shore and it’ll show it’s very best side, and yours too.

UK Beachwear is on a campaign of expansion. We’re stopping at nothing to snatch up every high fashion brand available, and our brazen approach seems to be working, as our latest brand will tell you.

Liberti, an Italian company that’s been curating it’s own collection of highly prized designers and talent for a while now, has just launched it’s swimwear on the Internet, exclusively to UK Beachwear.

Liberti have never dealt with the Internet before. They were a little worried about how they’d do. Liberti is one of those brands that doesn’t need to worry about this. Their work, like all great work should, speaks for itself. Their range is supremely beautiful and their photography is breathtaking.

Their collection consists of five exotic and magnificent designs that have stepped into the fashion season to thundering applause.

A few words on each is needed, I think.

Liberti have kept with tradition when it comes to naming their designs. Each one has been selected from some of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean. Each one fits the choice perfectly.

Amalfi

Liberti’s first swimwear design is a jaw-dropping animal bikini. Amalfi features a half cup bra and a shallow brief, making this the perfect choice for sunbathers. The addition details on this piece are astounding. I write about swimwear and legwear all day, but this kind of creativity is what stops veteran reviewers in their tracks. The minute stitching and careful contours give a more feral feel to this big cat pattern.

Theirs a almost primal look about the rugged and makeshift lines. It has an authentic, Serengeti style that sets it apart from the plainer animal prints you’ll find available. Liberti is raising the benchmark here.

Gallipoli

Gallipoli is named after two wonderful parts of the Mediterranean Coast. One, part of the Turkish coastline, the other, a age old Italian village on the tip of the Italian peninsula. Which ever location you prefer, Liberti know exactly what you’ll need to fit in, and stand out. Gallipoli is a blend of counter-culture chic and sumptuous Eastern charm.

The deep, ruffles brief and it’s suspended halter neck give her a relaxed and easy look. Gallipoli is good for sunbathing too, but with the extra ties and strings around the bottoms and the breastbone, This bikini also stands as a fashion lovers piece, all on it’s own. The motif is a very interesting one. The swirling lotuses and explosions of colour are something you’d see in an eastern palace, or a lost jungle city. This bikini is a superb achievement and one of our richest and most sumptuous designs.

Malta

This is a real, authentic Mediterranean work of art. The pomegranate purples and the dusky stone yellows give this gorgeous bikini an island paradise theme.

The tiny, repeating markings remind me of precious stones. Especially when set next to the two crystals of the brief. The jewel colours give it the spirit of it’s origin. The sizzling heat and cool, relaxing gardens of a nearby paradise. Liberti have done well to get a blend of such warm and cool colours in one swimwear design.

Malta follows a more modern idea with it’s look. It’s a simple piece, little in the way of patterning, and all it’s efforts going towards bold colour and precision fit. Malta is a 21st Century take on classic tropical island chic.

Giglio

If you’ve read this at my other blog recently, well, good for you! Also, you might see the resemblance. Giglio has a similar Aztec theme to it that Miss Oroblu has incorporated in there latest piece, Mystery. Admittedly, Mystery is a more fluid, winding expression of New World beauty. With Giglio, you get some much more animalistic!

The solid colours and lines look almost carved into the fabric. The massive, forceful blocks of patterning are something that’s going to be seen more and more in next season. This piece has a long life ahead of it, which is an impressive trick to pull of with something so bold. I mentioned jungle chic before. If that’s the kind of thing your in to, you might want to take a look at this one first.

Marsiglia

Again, I’m having to revise myself. Must take a good luck at all design before I start my reviews next time. Should be too much of a chore.

I’m having to overrule what I said about the Malta bikini being the most modern of the collection. Marsiglia is a pure and refined item. It is all about the colour and the fit with this piece. The slender, tapering straps have been maximized for developing your tan and the half cups set the perfect stage for giving you a superb bronzed effect.

The colour is something we accounted in Malta. This particular green is rich, verdant and jewel-like. It says “richness”, “quality” and “grace”, and combined with a minimal design and no patterning, you’ll have the full affect of this attention-grabbing masterpiece at your fingertips. Or your shoulders. Or your waist.

They couldn’t have picked a bikini that suited the female form better.

This swimsuit is quite something, isn’t it?

It’s these kinds of designs that make me reluctant to post about a whole collection all at once.

In my last post on Maryan Mehlhorn’s Summer swimwear, I briefly talked about this design, but it occurred to me that mentioning this in passing just won’t do!

Tell Me What You See

The Leather Belted Swimsuit is something of a Rorschach test, I think.

You look at the markings, which might not mean anything at all, and you say what you see.

I see a couple of things straight off. A tropical island, the blues are the gentle reflection of the ocean, the orange is the air shimmering at sunset. Or it’s a volcano erupting. I can’t tell.

Or maybe the orange is something else. The scales of a marine fish? I think it might be a tiger.

But really, the whole point of a work of abstract art like that is to let you make your own mind up about it. One thing I can say for sure is that Maryan Mehlhorn have created a beautiful swimsuit design, one that’s perfect for a tropical location. The intense yellows and blues are fantastic for the pool, but I think the real potential of this swimsuit comes out when it’s under the shade of a palm tree, spread across white sand with a refreshing drink near by. Something with pineapple in it!

The photography says it all. Wide open spaces, breathtaking views and crystal clear tides. The earthy stitching around the belt and the leathery lace-up breastbone remind me of the famous shot of Raquel Welsh from One Million Years B.C.

Maryan Mehlhorn have got hold of that simple, strong and uncompromising look with the added leather belt. They’ve taken the Cavegirl chic and given it a vibrant edge, whilst keeping the whole look familiar. Even Raquel has a touch of yellow and blue in this photo!

Maryan Mehlhorn’s swimwear is still very new to UK Beachwear, but they’ve been honing their skills in the boutiques of Europe for years. When it first came out, the picture above was called “the definitive look of the 1960′s”. That would be a compliment to most swimwear brands, but it seems to me that these designers wouldn’t settle for that.

After all, who want’s to be trapped in one decade? Maryan Mehlhorn is only interested in being timeless!

Every single season, without fail, Gottex has delivered at least one design that’s a complete jaw dropper.

I’d show you last season’s winner, but as expected, it sold out almost immediately. There’s nothing left to show.

The newest addition is Eva. She’s unbelievable.

I’d like to put part of their breathtaking designs down to fantastic photography and an amazing model. Yes, Gottex is the industry leader for photography, but I think it’s the design that really takes your breath away.

Eva is a halter neck piece, with rather narrow shoulder straps. This is a very wise choice for tanning purposes, but I think the designers had a more visual effect in mind.

The slender straps are very good for the coveted slimming effect and a great way to draw gazes to the neckline.

Of course, this swimsuit has no trouble attracting gazes in the first place! The colour scheme is inspired! I think sharper shades can be a risky choice, but Gottex have always taken the biggest risks and made the biggest payoffs.

Gottex have taken this bright and succulent shade of lime and have really played it to their advantage.

The swimsuit’s real asset is it’s originality. It takes some extremely creative features and blends them beautifully. I’m talking here about the strapped effects on the swimsuits midriff. Again this is a technique used for slimming, but I think Gottex’s design team wanted to make you stand out as well as enhance your figure. This imaginative addition to the design is a gorgeous and inventive way to really express yourself with your swimwear and the ideal way to avoid ordinary and commonplace swimwear.

But I’m not saying that Gottex is entirely new and never-before-seen. I think Gottex’s swimwear still has a healthy attitude to popular new trends. They’ve given Eva and so many other designs a modern edge. Their work relies on simplicity.

The Eva swimsuit design is slender, areodynamic and uninterrupted. It’s expressive, but never obnoxious. It’s simplistic, but never ordinary. Eva is a brave design, and when it comes to good design, Gottex’s bravery is really paying off!

Yes! Another brand has entered UK Beachwear’s Swimwear Mansion, and this one is a bit more on the just-wanna-have-fun side than what you might have seen here before.

Skinny Dip’s designs are all about creating feminine, seductive and down-right-fun bikinis. Their swimwear is, of course, some of the best quality you’ll find on the market. UK Beachwear wouldn’t have it any other way!

But it’s clear from their designs that they’re out to make stunning bikinis and create some glances and gazing out of thin air.

Skinny Dip Halter Anchor Bikini with Skirt, the first design on the Skinny Dip page, is a real treat. Gosh! This kind of swimwear is meant to be very visual, and the delightful skirts makes this bikini much more than just a normal triangle brief. A great one for being original and darling!

Skinny Dip also released the Anchor without the skirt. This version is also a regular halter neck, so what the skirt did to draw glances your legs, the halter top should do the same to draw glances to your neck line.

Skinny Dip Ruffle Triangle Polka Dot Bikini is perhaps the girliest bikini in the range. The tie sides on the briefs and the ruffles on the cups make this swimwear design very sumptuous. Combined with the pastel colouring, this bikini is a real summer favourite, and best suited for beaches and sunbathing. Don’t confine this one to lengths in the pool, it would be a sin!

Skinny Dip Pin-Up has everything you could want from a bikini. Halter straps that draw attention to the neck line, a broach that emphasises the breastbone, tie-sides with side-broaches that’s become a very popular bikini addition and a Pin-Up theme. This bikini has it all and it’s my personal favourite this season.

If this kind of swimwear is the kind for you, then don’t hesistate. These designs will definitely be quick sellers, and I’m confident next season’s will be no different. If you found this review helpful, then subscribe for free and recceive email updates on the latest fashion swimwear via email at the bottom of the page. Have fun and go wild!

Little Kiss Swimwear. One of our latest brands and one of our most promising.

For my first swimwear blog post, I’ll be reviewing the Little Kiss swimwear and the three fantastic designs that UK Beachwear has taken on. But first, I think a little background is in order.

Little Kiss Swimwear is a Spanish brand that has been designing some of Europe’s most respectable swimwear releases since it was founded. Little Kiss is also one of the best brands when it comes to fit and you certainly won’t be disappointed with the comfort and feel of these swimsuits.

Little Kiss Freda is a very elegant design and one of my favourite swimwear designs this season. The blend of orange, chocolate and black is a colour scheme that we haven’t had at UK Beachwear before. The orange on this swimsuit is a separate piece of material making it look almost like a sash that links onto a very tasteful ring in the middle of the bust. I have noticed a whole bunch of designers have been using this kind of broach, and it looks as if it will be staying for quite some time. So, if you are looking for a swimsuit that will soon become a classic, this one has your name on it.

Little Kiss Livinia Swimsuit is a great design and I don’t mind saying it was my very favourite of the three new designs. After some inspection, I noticed the swimsuit was chocolate and mocca, and the design is a blend of jungle and tribal. It’s elegant, subtle and tasteful and it’s likely to become one of our most popular swimsuits over the coming weeks.

Little Kiss Janice is a more minimal design, but one that you can’t help but love. And look, that broach! The ever popular feature design at the centre of the bust, and this one also has a little loop underneath, too. The whole design is a success, and knowing Little Kiss’ reputation for swimwear that fits, this should look fantastic and very elegant when on.

So, you’ve seen all of the new Little Kiss designs we have available so far. You will definitely be able to find one that you like from these items. But be warned, because every one of them looks fantastic on, when you try it, you’ll definitely want to keep it and wear it every chance you get.

I love fashion, and I love quality, but most of all I love variety. Emar produce fantastic quality swimwear in a wide range of designs – here’s a roundup of their latest styles.

Few designers can match the array of patterns and col0ur schemes Emar have used this summer. Most manufacturers release a themed range (perfect for people looking for a certain kind of look). But if you want more choice from a company that delivers the best quality – there’s something for everyone in Emar’s Spring/Summer collection.

Emar’s swimwear varies from classic beach patterns, to tribal sequins, to chic and minimal:

For the classic beach look, Lidia is perfect. A tasteful blend of white and sea green, coral is a timeless favourite and is popular this summer.

Charlotte is another nature-themed item that would be the perfect buy for sunbathers. Floral cups and a deep and passionate red and black colour scheme make for a wonderful swimwear design.

Lilyis one of the strongest swimsuits I’ve seen this season. It’s bold, beautiful and brave. Minimal patterning has never gone out of fashion and Emar has released a stunning and strong swimsuit this season. It’s one of my personal favourites.

Emar has some beautiful tribal designs in this summer: Mia is a gorgeous number and the patterning around the midriff finishes the swimsuit really well. The colour is a winning feature, a popular shade this year and something I hope will also feature in the coming winter collections.

If you like Mia, but you’re looking for a bikini this summer, Emar Ruby is the perfect alternative. It keeps the tribal design, but adds that earthy scarlet colour. It brings out the beautiful gold patterns of the briefs and is a definite winner for summer.

Earthy colours are great for the hotter weather, but a cooling design is always popular. Jacinta has a calming gold and white colour scheme, and the autumn shades are perfect for relaxing by the pool. I’d recommend Jacinta for any sunbather or fashion-enthusiast.

Emar’s penultimate swimwear design is the Eloise. A simple, chic bandeau bikini that comes in bold candy pink, perfectly finished with embedded crystals – the perfect spring item. A great poolside bikini and a sunbather’s dream.

And this brings me to the last in our Emar swimwear range, but it’s definitely one of their best. Amelia Control Swimsuit is everything you need. It’s animal print, it’s floral, it’s paisley, it’s pink – Amelia has everything! Whichever pattern you choose will suit the  design perfectly, and it’s a fantastic choice for this season. Animal is always a strong design and I’ve noticed paisley has been making a steady return to popularity, so this swimsuit is a fashion-friendly addition to your wardrobe.

Shopping can be hard. When you walk into a boutique, there’s everything you could want, except the thing your looking for. The solution? A shop that finds it for you.

And so the new UK Beachwear site was born. We started off with a basic website, but like our first online shop, UK Tights, we decided a new and improved website was in order. When I first heard about the new UK Tights website, it was just the Technical Department fixing some problems in the search bar. Naturally, it soon snowballed into a whole new design project. Our swimwear site followed soon after.

Our first priority is, of course, to make our search system the best on the Internet for swimwear, so you can find exactly what you need. But a new look was irresistible. I always say, the shopping experience is almost as important as finding what your looking for. So a good looking site is important. It shows how serious we are about giving our customers the high quality swimwear they want and more importantly it makes your shopping experience that bit more enjoyable.

The new site also includes a swimwear brands section in the navigation bar, so you can find all of the designs from your favourite brand. If your a Gottex girl, you’ll have no problem finding the best of the fashion season by this designer. If you’re not sure what brand you want to try, but know you want a bikini, our navigation bar has a full bikini section, so you can see every two piece item UK Beachwear has to offer. There’s also sections for swimsuits, tankinis, kaftans and we’ve recently started a section for plus sized swimwear too.

So, I’m happy to say that the new site is finally up and running, so now you’ll have no problem finding that special bikini or that up-to-the-mintue fashion swimsuit!

You may have noticed that this season has been a busy time for me. Every brand imaginable has come knocking on our door and we seem to have said “yes” to all of them. One brand in particular has to be mentioned, and judging by the tastes of my readers, I’m sure you will love it as much as us. LingaDore first caught our eye a few months ago when we met up with an agent for another brand, and just as you might expect, we asked if she had anything new for us. She showed us what LingaDore had to offer and when I saw their designs, I knew it would be with us in no time.

LingaDore is still quite a young brand but it has already launched itself to the top of the swimwear scene. Founded in 2005 in the Netherlands and becoming quickly popular in Europe, you’ll start hearing LingaDore’s name mentioned amongst the best brands in the business. In the UK, it’s best known for its high quality underwear and nightwear, but you can take it from me that their swimwear is no different. UK Beachwear has chosen four of LingaDore’s designs for the summer months, and all of them are up-to-the-minute and more.

Here at UK Beachwear, sunbathing is a hot topic (no pun intended) and we are always eager to recommend swimwear that’s perfect for soaking up some rays. LingaDore have managed to create the perfect balance of coverage and exposure, with most of their briefs deep and tastefully designed, but still revealing enough for working on the tan.

LingaDore Antiqua Bikini is my personal favourite, and of course it comes in my favourite colour, black. This tasteful bikini is finished off perfectly with a small gold attachment on the shoulders and brief. I think that swimwear like this is always a pleasure to wear and designs like these are timeless.

LingaDore Cabana is a new kind of bikini I’ve been seeing more and more of recently and I’m very impressed with LingaDore’s take on this growing trend. Deep briefs paired with more revealing cups is something a lot of desingers are producing. The underwired bra and the halter neck makes for great shaping and keeps the material at a minimum, great news for sunbathers. This trend is fast growing and my opinion, its just going to get more popular.

Club Tropicana. The pattern and colour scheme is bold, to say the least, and I love it. You’ll notice a gingham trim has been added to the bikini, something I’ve not seen before in swimwear. Patterns like these break up the colours and makes for a perfect contrast, something I’ve mentioned in another post. This new way of using colours and patterns is really becoming popular and a well selected contrast, like floral and gingham, is one of the biggest spring trends.

One more item to mention this season, Dominicana. Although I’ve already mentioned how popular the deeper brief is becoming, LingaDore have been good to its customers and included a sunbather’s favourite in their collection. Dominicana is a string bikini with triangle cups, the classic choice for getting the best out of the summer sun. Red is timeless, and it would be great to see more of it on the beach, as it always looks fantastic.

Well, this is all of the swimwear from LingaDore we have for at the minute, but I’ll be keeping an eye on their designs over the next few months. It looks like you’ll be spoiled for choice this summer, and I can’t wait to see what winter has in store for us.
